  • Scope
ASTM A501 Grade B is a standard specification for hot-formed welded and seamless carbon steel structural tubing with a minimum yield strength of 40 ksi (280 MPa). It is commonly used in construction, bridges, and general structural applications where high strength and weldability are required.

    ASTM A501 Grade B Tube
    Grade: GR.B
    Size:
    SQUARE: 20MM * 20MM - 1200MM * 1200MM
    RECTANGULAR: 20MM * 30MM - 1500MM * 1200MM
    Wall thickness: 1.3MM - 50MM
Wall Thickness Tolerance: Control within the standard limits.
    Length: 1 - 12M, normally 5.8M,6M, 12M, also depends on the requirements
Surface treatment: Galvanizing, Black vanish, Carving, Slightly oil painting, PVC clothes cover each bundle etc.
Production capacity: 300000 tons per year.
Production delivery time:15 -- 30 days acc to order quantity and sizes.

    Chemical Composition
The chemical composition (max % by weight) for A501 Grade B is as follows:

    Composition,%

    Grade B
    ElementHeat analysisProduct analysis
    Carbon,max0.220.26
    Manganese,max 1.41.45
    Phosphorus,max0.030.04
    Suffur,max0.020.03
    Copper,when copper steel is specified,min0.20.18

Note: Unlike ASTM A500 (cold-formed tubing), A501 allows for higher carbon and manganese content, improving weldability and strength.
