DETAILED INFORMATION

Peculiarity

The EN 10217 standard defines the technical delivery conditions for welded steel pipes for pressure applications, of which the "HOLLOW SECTION" steel pipe is an important part.

1.Material and specification

EN 10217 hollow section steel pipes are usually made of non-alloy steel or low-alloy steel with good mechanical and weldable properties.

Common steel grades include P195GH, P235GH and P265GH, which have different yield and tensile strengths to meet the needs of different application scenarios.

The diameter range is usually 406-1420 mm, and the wall thickness is 10-50 mm.

2.Manufacturing process

Manufactured by longitudinal submerged arc welding (LSAW) technology, it ensures the quality of the weld and the overall performance of the steel pipe.

The production process includes pretreatment of steel plates, forming (such as JCOE or UOE processes), welding, weld treatment, heat treatment, inspection and anti-corrosion treatment.

3.Quality control

Strict non-destructive testing (such as ultrasonic testing, X-ray testing) ensures that the weld is free of defects.

Mechanical properties tests (such as tensile tests, bending tests) verify the strength and toughness of the steel pipe.

Hydraulic test verifies the tightness and pressure resistance of the steel pipe.

4.Surface treatment and corrosion protection

Provide a variety of surface treatment methods, such as sandblasting, painting, hot dip galvanizing, three-layer polyethylene (3PE) anticorrosion, etc., to adapt to different environmental needs.

Application

1.Pipeline transport

It is widely used in long-distance pipelines for oil, gas and water, especially in high pressure and low temperature environments.

2.Pressure vessel

It is suitable for pressure vessels in high or low temperature environment, such as boilers, storage tanks, etc.

3.Architecture and structure

Used for supporting parts in building structures, such as Bridges, towers, etc., because of their high strength and corrosion resistance.

4.Ocean engineering

In offshore projects such as offshore platforms and submarine pipelines, EN 10217 hollow section steel pipes are widely used because of their good corrosion resistance and high pressure resistance.
