Manufacturing process:

Seamless, electric welding (ERW, EFW) and submerged arc welding (LSAW, SSAW, DSAW) are allowed.

 

Delivery conditions:

Hot rolled (hot-finished), that is, the hollow structure can be hot formed, or it can be cold formed after heat treatment above 580℃.

 

Coating:

EN 10210 hollow structural steels are typically coated with a variety of coatings, such as paint, galvanized, 3LPE, 3LPP, FBE and HDPE, to improve durability and anti-corrosion properties.

 

Application:

EN 10210 S235JRH is suitable for construction structures, industrial equipment manufacturing, infrastructure works (e.g. Bridges and towers), Marine engineering structures, etc., mainly for structural components subjected to static or dynamic loads.

 

 

Peculiarity
 

Uniformity: The mechanical properties of EN 10210 hollow structural steel are uniform throughout the section, including corners and weld lines, and are superior to cold-formed sections.

 

High ductility: EN 10210 has a higher ductility than cold-formed hollow structural steels, making it suitable for applications that withstand cyclic loads or require fatigue resistance.

 

Resistance to breakage: With almost no residual stress, EN 10210 hollow structural steel is more resistant to breakage and is suitable for use in harsh conditions.

 

Buckling strength: The buckling strength of EN 10210 can be increased by up to 35% compared to the cold-formed section.

 

Dimensional stability: EN 10210 hollow structural steel is not easily deformed during cutting, welding or other manufacturing processes, while cold-formed sections are more prone to deformation due to higher residual stress.

 

Fire resistance: The performance of EN 10210 hollow structural steel is consistent and reliable in the event of fire, while the cold-formed section may suddenly lose its yield strength when heated.

 

Galvanizability: The silicon content of EN 10210 hollow structural steel is well controlled to ensure good galvanizing properties, thus providing additional protection against corrosion.

 

Fully quenched steel: Made using only normalizing, fine-grained steel, EN 10210 hollow structural steel is completely stress-free and has uniform mechanical properties and better weldability.
